Search icon appeared "all of a sudden"

Greetings,

As I'm a new to the community, I was surprised that I couldn't find this already being discussed.

So, I notice a few days ago that a search icon was in the notification window on my I2. I hadn't used it and even if I 'clear' the notifications, I can't seem to find a way to remove it.

Any suggestions? Hard reset? Could an app have caused this behavior?

This is my 2nd I2 so I'm fairly sure this isn't typical for the phone.

Lets figure it out together jamaicabob! How does the search icon look? Is it a closed circle or an arrowed-circle? Does this icon only appear when you are on the Internet searching? Lets try to clear the Internet files: http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=30943 . Let us know if the icon still appears after doing this. Is it possible to include an attached screen shot of the icon?
