Several problems with Motorola Droid

First off, several days ago, my phone started taking longer than usual for the screen to 'wake up' after going to sleep. It would take several attempts to get it to actually do anything. The screen was active, because I could feel it vibrate when I touch it. But it was blank.
Secondly, it suddenly stopped receiving text messages from one of my contacts. Both myself and said contact were in areas with good wireless service, so I can't think of any reason not to be receiving texts.
And finally, now my phone is completely useless, and is displaying the following...
Bootloader
2C.7C
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
It won't turn on or off or do anything. Anybody know what the problem is? Yes, I realize this last problem renders the first two pointless. But if anyone has any answers to those, I'd like to hear it just out of curiosity.
Thanks.

I happens to mine, I dropped in water.
Lucky for me the tech in Verizon didn't open my battery door to see if it was flooded, all he did was try to reprogram it. Eventually I got a certified refurbished phone.

When they reprogram it, I assume I lose all my **bleep** (contacts, photos, apps, etc.)? Or can they transfer everything?

The lag in screen time is the processor trying to keep up with the requests the CPU is sending. That unfortunately is technology on the move.
The program with the SMS probably has a bug,
I would assume it got wet as well with your discription of the problem. If you have assurion they cover if your phone gets wet, that's what the last one told me.

I didn't delete anything or clear my cache. So all my stuff should still be there.
I didn't get it wet. I dropped it. But I've dropped it several times before and it worked just fine.

Are you running another launcher than the stock?
