I have a reconditioned replacement phone and I am getting "severe weather alerts" with the annoying noise from T.V. alerts. I can't find a way to turn these off?! Any suggestions?
Check the text message application settings.

Good morning! I'm sorry these alerts have been annoying you. The Wireless Emergency Alerts are part of a new program provided by a partnership of the FCC and FEMA to alert people in a designated area of AMBER alerts, Presidental alerts, and severe weather alerts. Verizon Wireless does not determine the content of these messages, however we have provided additional information on our website about the alerts: http://bit.ly/GIMFCj.
