I'm having a variety of problems with my six-week-old Droid 2:
- random shutdown even at full power, must remove battery to restart - this happens at least once a day, often more.
- slide to unlock causes phone to freeze and then reboot - a few times a week
- phone goes from full power to no power (i.e. complete shutdown) in just a few hours with no activity - about once a week
- overheating
Does anyone have suggestions for resolving this set of problems?
Thanks!

I regret to hear you are having some issues with your recently purchased Droid 2.
It definitely sounds like there may be an issue with the battery, especially since it is overheating.
Normal battery expectations
- Warm to the touch while in use.
- Warm to the touch while charging battery.
Battery issues requiring attention
- Excessive heat or too hot to the touch.
- Swelling or rupture of the battery or phone
If your device is HOT to the touch, please take it to the closest Verizon Store along with your charger and any other charging accessories you have.
Battery issues can also lead to random shut downs & freezing. I would have them test and/or replace the battery for you.
