I am a little dismayed that Skype Mobile for my DROID X is NOT a Voice-over-IP enabled app but only works over VZWs CDMA 3G signal! I travel internationally and had not heard that Skype Mobile worked any other way than over WiFi technology.
If anyone at Verizon is reading this, I have two questions that beg an answer:
- Why did Verizon go with a CDMA version of Skype Mobile rather that allowing it to use WiFi VoIP technology? and
- Will Verizon offer me the option to actually use my DROID X internationally in markets that don't have CDMA (most don't)?
I am here in Germany on business unable to use my DROID for anything useful without some sort of CDMA 3-G connection...
