Slow data

I'm just wondering if this regular, I am only getting 1 mb dl speeds on my droid 2 global, I just came from t-mobile and over there I was getting 4 mb dl speeds with a phone with half the specs. So I'm just trying to figure out if this is the normal speed for this phone or is it suppose to be better? I am in a area that has 4G coverage I am just woondering

4g wont matter, as the d2 is not a 4g phone

I kinda figured I wouldn't get that lucky, but I would figure I would at least get more than a mb dl speed, thats not even half what I use to get .

check at various times of the day, see how/if it changes

im getting 1.5m down, 650k up with a ping of 202 as an fyi

The bad news: without a 4G phone on Verizon, you will not get 4MB speeds. EV-DO Rev A (which is what the phone uses) maxes out at 3.1Mb/s but that is the theoretical maximum, and you are more likely to see sustained speeds of 1.5-2.5, depending on signal strenght etc. 1 Mb/s is on the low side, do you get a strong signal? The good news is that there is low latency, so a lot of stuff that uses data appears faster than the equivalent speed on GSM networks.

Outside the US, your phone can get up to 3.6Mb/s using a SIM card on 3G networks. Unfortunately, you cannot use GSM on this phone in the US, which would have been a good comparison to your old t-mobile phone.

Yeah I have full bars on my phone, signal strength isn't a problem got a crapload of towers around me. . But I guess this is the best I'm going to get until I can get my hands on one of those 4G phones.
