So Frustrated with my Droid X, Any Suggestions?

I purchased my Droid X about a month after it was released, and loved it.  Then the update to Froyo came, and it was messy.  My phone was locking on the Motorola symbol and eventually required a factory reset to fix it.  Over the year or so that I have had this phone, I have consistantly had issues when I'm in a call that the phone leaves the call screen and will start dialing other numbers while I'm still in the call, causing it to beep and sometimes completely disconnect the call I was on.  I was in a Verizon store at the beginning of May and asked about this issue, and was told to wait until after GB came out because that might fix it.  The update to GB caused my phone to freeze on the Droid eye bootup screen, and has since required 2 more factory resets.  Now tonight I go to make a call but I can't hear anything, nor can the person I'm calling hear me - but when I turn on speakerphone it works fine.  It rings and makes other notification noises just fine, but I can't play my music any more, either.  (I've never used head phones or bluetooth.) I've already rebooted it several times and have pulled the battery multiple times, all to no avail.  I've read some posts on the Motorola message board of other users having similar issues having to do a factory reset to fix it, but how many times will I have to reset this thing?  There's got to be another answer.  I used to love my phone, now it's getting to be more trouble than it's worth.

Thanks for the information . That's correct, performing a master reset should assist with some of the issues your experiencing. I also would recommend removing any apps that may be or may have been troublesome. I have listed steps below to remove apps from your device.

Additionally, if you continue to have issues we can speak with you to review additional troubleshooting steps and options

  1. From the home screen, select the applications tab (located at the bottom of the display).

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Select Applications.

  4. Select Manage applications.

  5. From the All tab, select an application.

  6. Select Uninstall.

  7. Select OK.

  8. Select OK.

I had none of those issues on Froyo and I don't have them on GB.

You are either having a really bad app conflict or your device is simply defective. After doing the factory reset did you reinstall your apps before or after noticing your problems still existed?
