I know I can drag a widget or a shortcut to the Trash can on one window.
Then
Move to the new window/Home Screen and reinstall the shortcut or widget in the new location
But
It seems to me I should be able to just drag and drop window to window.
Thing is
I can easily do it on my Xoom. (Android 3.1 Honeycomb) so I should be able to do it on my Droid X.
Any assistance will be appreciated..

You mean drag something from your main homescreen, to one of the other ones to the right and left of it? You can.
Long press what you want to drag, move it to the side of the screen, and 3 arrows will start flashing, move it over some more and you'll be on the other screen.

Thanks for the help. Never saw the three arrows before.
Not quite as cool as implemented on the Xoom, but gets the job done.
Thanks again.

On the Xoom, when you are moving an item toward either side, a drop pen opens up on the side you are moving toward. If you drop the item in the pen It is deposited on the next screen. If you move the item up and down in the pen it opens up anoter screen and you can keep moving across to the last screen.
Works great.
