...with a fully-working brand-new Droid X? This phone rocks the free world. Nothing freezes, everything seems to be working, and it arrived when the store said it would. It really is the coolest phone... And someone was gonna say it...I've held it every way I can imagine. No signal loss. I-who? Keep it. Geri O.

I'm not so happy....yet.
Been playing with it endlessly...I miss the text notification icon from the iphone. I just have to play with it some more.
That being said, when Verizon ever gets the iphone -- I may have to jump the Droid ship. The iphone is MUCH easier to set up and use.

OK, I am replying to my last night's cry for help, bcz others might have had the experience:
The first time i plugged my brand new DroidX into its charger, the screen just went black & the whole thing went dead. D E A D.
Nothing i could do to revive it.
So I went online, read the entire manual (learned a lot, but nada on my problem).
Then i read all-A L L- the threads on every imaginable dX topics until 5:30 am. Learned a lot also, but nada..etc.
So I hotfooted it to the Verizon store first thing: they were puzled, but then tried a new charger..Presto! Lazarus came back from the dead! I am so glad.. I already love my DroidX.
They gave me a new charger, and so far, so good. Moral: a little extra appliance like a charger can also be a lemon..whod'a thunk it?

Thank you for sharing your story/experience, mandaringarnet. I suspect many people conclude there is something wrong with the phone when the problem is really with the wiring in an accessory. There are many threads about defective wiring in car mounts, wall chargers, and multimedia desktop mounts, for instance. Better to have a defective accessory than a defective Droid X! So maybe people should not be so quick to give up on their Droid X. It really is an excellent phone, and there really are many defective/wire problems with several accessories for it. Careful troubleshooting is key, I think.

I have only just received my X a day ago, and this is my first ever android OS phone. I used a BB storm the past year, and a moto Q9m before that which i think was windows 6.0.
I JUST discovered the coolness of Voice Comands, the default setting if you double click the home key. I am very impressed with my new little friend here. We are still working on "plug yourself in" though...
I was also very happy that, right out of the box, the battery was charged, setting up my emails was fast, and all my contacts from my bb storm copied flawlessly with backup assistant. kudos to vzw i say becuase i was concerned about the contacts thing.
I am impressed with my Droid X and very happy that I decided to swtich.

uh...no.
Ordered mine 24 July. Arrived 29 July even tho the website said shipping 8/4.
Works fine except for the short battery life. Maybe it will last longer when I stop fiddling with it .
What a relief after the Blackberry Storm.
The only thing the iPhone4 does that this one doesn't is....drop calls..

I love mine too. But I am having a problem with notifications of voicemail. I does let me know about missed calls in the status bar; never notifies me of voicemails. When I finally just went into voicemail I had 9 Messages. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

pect that madaringarnetts problem could have been easily avoided if there was some kind of indicator light on the X that was on when the phone is getting charged.....this is actually the first phone I have seen in a while that does not have this

The iPhone doesn't have any type of light of that nature. Just look at the screen and it'll indicate if it's charging...it's one of those things you should do with any new electronic battery-powered device, not just a phone
