Sound on "power up"

Greetings fellow Androidians,

I am wonderin ig anyone know if there is a way to turn the sound off so that I can turn on my phone in the morning without waking the whole house up. I wouldn't even mind if it was on vibrate. It is just so loud and setting the ringer volume doesn't work. Everyother phone I have owned lets me have the option of a 'silent' feature when turning the phone on or off. Thanks for any help on this.

Have you tried putting the phone on silent mode before you turn it off the night before?  I know my phone will boot silently if the sound was off when the phone was turned off.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Thanks for the reply....yep,I have it on silent. In fact, I thought that might do the trick and without giving it a thought, I turned my phone on. Holy cow, I about jumped out of my skin because I figured it wouldn't make a noise and I was wrong! :smileysurprised:

Tap the menu button. Tap Settings>Sound. Scroll down to SD card notifications and uncheck it. That will keep it nice and quiet on start up.

Hello ,

I know this might sound like double work but I just tested this on a  Samsung Fascinate with the updated software. You can turn the volume on vibrate then put the phone on silent mode. With both of these settings in place, I was able to power the device off & on without any audio feedback.

Hope this works for you...
