Speaker and Shut down Issues

I am on my 3rd DROID... the first two I would be talking to someone and they couldnt hear me (bad mouthpiece speaker) which verizon gladly replaced with a "like new" replacement. So on Droid #3 in 5.5 months... and its starting to do the same thing and it also has just completely shut down in the middle of a call. I couldnt do anything and eventually just had to remove the battery and then restart it totally. (no i havent dropped it or anything)... was wondering is anyone else having this issue?

I took the phone to the store the other day and they say they have to be able to duplicate it  (so when this happens I have to run to verizon and hope they are open and the problem is still ongoing?) Anyway... others having these issues? Any solutions out there? Thanks!!

Where do you carry your phone? What do you do for work? I ask because I had an old phones speakers and mics go out from dirt, and lint from the pockets. Put your phone in a case out of pockets.
