Okay, so I assigned Speed dial numbers to my most called numbers.
Now how do I get the phone to speed dial the requested number?
Open up the dialer and tap and hold the number you want. For example, you want to call Aunt Tilly who is assigned number 8. Just open up the dialer and tap and hold number 8 until Aunt Tilly's telephone number pops up and starts ringing.
So it's a 2 step process. Open dialer>Press and hold selected speed dial.
My old phone was just press selected number and send.
Now if I can get my fat paws to press only the number that i want instead of that and the number next to it.

Your old phone probably had the dialer already showing, whereas, on the Droids, the dialer is an icon you have to open up. Yup! It's a two step process.
