Status bar disappeared

Not very savvy with this phone yet, first smart phone I've had, that being said, my status bar just disappeared. I deleted an (meaningless) app that I had downloaded and then I noticed it was gone. I have no idea where to start, I tried doing the reset that pops up when you hold the power button. Please help!

Also just noticed that the 'notifications' button doesnt bring anything up

Are you using a 3rd party launcher like launcher pro or adw because they have a option to hide the status bar, try clicking menu button and see if it comes up..

What are you seeing at the top of your screen? No time or 3G signal icon? What was the name of that app you removed?

If you have not, remove the battery from the phone while powered on and leave out for 10-20 seconds. Then, put the battery back in and power on like normal. If that still does get the notification bar back up, then perform a hard reset to return the phone back to factory settings. After the reset, the phone will walk you through the activation and on-screen set up for Gmail, contacts, email, etc.

Wow, isn't there a better way, or at least a route cause? To have to reset to factory settings means you must go back and add all your applications again, and completely re-register your phone. This could easily take an hour or more.

Alternatively, is there a way to back up all your apps so that if you DO have to do a factory reset, that it can all restore automatically?

I use a program called "App backup and restore " from infolife. Its free in the market, and can be configure to auto update your backups when there are updates, new downloads, etc... After your reset simply download from the market again and use to restore your apps from the SD card. Hope this helps!

Don't forget to back them up using this app BEFORE your reset...I almost made that mistake myself! Lol :smileyhappy:
