So I'd still pay $9.99 for my line, + $10 for txting, and the extra $30? Eep, I guess I'm not getting the Droid then. 
So I've gone through a lot of the threads here, but I am still quite confused on how a plan would work if you get the Droid.
I am part of a FamilyShare Plan. We have 700 minutes to share among 4 lines. My additional line is $9.99 + $10 for texting, so my monthly amount is $19.99. My contract expires in like, a month, and I'm really liking the Droid, but if I wanted it, what plan would I need? I would have to pay $30 a month, I believe, but what is attached to that? Does that include text messaging and the like, or is $30 just the monthly amount for the sake of having a smartphone? Thanks for any help.
The 29.99 data plan isn't a flat rate, that charge will be added on to your regular bill of 19.99. So you should plan on paying around $50 a month.
