My Droid 2 suddenly quit retrieving email automatically yesterday. If I refresh the mailbox, it will retrieve it. I have not changed any settings and my Fetch schedule is set to Every 15 minutes. Any ideas why it will not fetch?

I forgot to mention that I did download an upgrade. Could there have been something in the upgrade that stops it?

Double check your settings, sometimes these upgrades will reset some things back to default. Also, if you are using a task killer, you may be killing the email app, which will cause it to not poll the email server for new mail.

Please explain what you mean by "Double check your settings, sometimes these upgrades will reset some things back to default. Also, if you are using a task killer, you may be killing the email app, which will cause it to not poll the email server for new mail." for someone who is not very knowledgeable about smart phones.
1) When you say double check your settings, what settings are you referring to? My email Delivery Settings are: Data push is checked and Fetch schedule is set to 15 minutes.
2) What is a task killer?
Also I am not able to send any mail out. It just sits in my outbox.

I would also check your email account settings, email address, server, etc. as well as your delivery settings. You may need to check with your email provider as they may have changed something on their end. If you don't know what a task killer is, don't worry about that, it is a type of app that, mistakenly, gets recommended alot and, if not used properly, can cause some issues with your phone not doing things that it is supposed too.

Thanks everyone for your input, it's truly appreciated. In addition to what you've tried, please delete your current email accounts and reprogram your device by following the steps outlined below:
1. From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located on the bottom of the display).
2. Touch Settings.
3. Touch Accounts.
4. Touch the email account.
5. Touch the setting:

Kelly's right. That will work, and it's what I did for a long time, but I then figured out that a power off was quicker.
