Stuck in Safe Mode

Seems like I saw this issue somewhere earlier but couldn't find it again. My X, for some reason, has entered the Safe Mode and can't get out of it. I have pulled the battery several times and it's still the same old thing...back to the Safe Mode. Since it's been doing this, the menu has been erratic...jumping up and down as has the keyboard, which seems to appear for no reason sometimes.

I reset this phone a couple of weeks ago when the calendar stopped working. Everything worked just fine until yesterday when the gremlins took over again. No new apps have been added either. Anybody have a clue as to what might be the problem before I do another reset? Thanks for the help!

A quick update. The next morning my X seemed to be working perfectly. This lasted about 10 minutes till the home button stopped working. Shortly after that, I got the blank screen with the triangle and little Android guy. I tried the hard reset from that screen (after pushing the search button) but all it did was return to the same screen. A quick trip to the Verizon store and they couldn't do anything with it either. A few minutes later, they had ordered a replacement phone for me and it arrived at my business the next day. I was a little leery of the "Certified Like New" phone, but physically it looked to be in brand new condition and best of all, IT WORKS perfectly!!

Usually a force Safe Mode boot usually lean towards a bad app or hardware hickup, try removing the sd card and see if you can boot clean. Another option is to try booting into recovery mode and clear the cache by..

Power Device Off First.....

1. Hold Home Button and press power

2. Screen will show a Android with a triangle with astrick

3. Let Go of Home Button and Power

4. Press Search Button (Far Left Button)

5. A blue menu will show at top of page, scroll to Clear Cache

6. Select Yes to verify

7. Allow operation to complete (Information at bottom of page will go through a few steps)

8. Once complete Blue Menu will show at top again, select Reboot

Note: Use volume up and down to select opinion and use camera button as Enter,,,

Thanks for the suggestions Wildman. I just tried doing both and it's the same old deal....grrrrr! Unless someone else has a recommendation, I'll try a factory reset again later when I have the time.

A hard reset is probally your best solution actually.

Glad to here you got a working solution, as for the "Certified Like New" devices I have had devices replaced with them and had no issues at all and in a nut shell the device has been serviced by Motorola so any defects are usually resolved but there is a few issues units that makes it through but I believe you should have any issues because it is "Certified Like New".
