Sudden ringtone change

I have a Droid 2.....I downloaded and paid for a music ringtone back in December which would play when someone called me.  Suddenly, over the weekend, my music ringtone changed to just tones (and not the Droid ringtones pre-installed on the phone), and when I try to open it and play it, it says " sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file".  It has also affected other things I have downloaded, they don't play anymore.  As far as I know, I did nothing.....can anyone help??

Have you tried rebooting your phone? While your phone is on, take off the back and remove the battery. Put battery back in, put back on and turn phone back on. That might help. It has helped me in the past when this happened.)
