Switching between tasks

Apparently I'm addicted and can't put this thing down! I'm texting and reading emails (that are now coming fast and furious) and checking the market. Is there some way to switch back and forth between tasks instead of backing out and then going back into them?

Press and hold Home button on front of device allows you tp see running apps list and you can select from that list.
