Swype - Latest Version?

My Droid X is loaded with Swype Version 1.64.40.9380.  I love using Swype for text input.  I just wish that there was a cursor key that could be used for more accurate correction attempts.

I've read that there is a new Swype beta 5 that's recently been released.  It may be Version 2.10.52.13753.  Since Swype isn't available in the Android Market, and doesn't show up as an Application under Settings/Applications/Manage applications, do we just have to wait until Motorola/Verizon provide an over the air update before getting the latest and greatest?

Apparently it's bundled along with the OS ...    Mine shows a package date of July 1, 2010  ...

My big WISH list for it (and I love it as well) is to move that darn Microphone Speech Icon to another location ... It is right next tro the "."  -- I can't tell you how many times I press it by mistake when trying to key a "."  !!

Have you tried dictating with that microphone?  It actually works quite well if you speak carefully and keep it down to a sentence at a time.

yea, I have - it's pretty accurate; but at the same time find myself going back to correct things that it doesn't understand ... and like you mentioned, restricted to small sentences..  I actually like SWYPE ...

In order to get the beta, you have to go to beta.swype.com and sign up for it and wait for them to send you an email with the new version. However, in order to install the new one, you have to uninstall the old one and, seeing as how it's bundled with the os, you probably can't so you may want to go to the website and do some research there.
