Sync Android 2.2 to Outlook by USB without using Google (Like ActiveSync)

My salesman mislead me when he sold me the phone. He swore and promised that the 2.2 would sync with outlook just like my trade in using activesync. I had two surgeries within the following two weeks after getting my phone and now it is too late to return it. I have searched the net with no luck except to find that there are a lot of people out there very mad about the same thing. I really like the phone but it is a useless piece of junk without the ability to sync with outlook. I DO NOT want to send all of my 3,500 contacts with all of their data to Google, besides its a two step process. Can anyone out there please help????

You can try companion link, outside of that I don't think there is another way. Other software such as touchdown are for exchange, not Outlook.

Am with you on this one. I was told the same thing. Now I have a piece of junk too and it cost me a ton. How on earth can this phone not sync with outlook without going to gmail???!!! I don't have the money to change so I have a very "nice" paper weight for my desk!!!!

this is the future, windoes phone 7 doesnt even nativly support this as far as i can find, and i do not think the iphone does either

for some reason everyone is droping this, the only thing they are supporting is exhange

This may not be ideal, but if you go to your gmail account on a computer, you can download your contacts into a psv file or something like that. Then you can import that into outlook.

If you were misled, call a Verizon tech and ask to speak with a supervisor. They are usually receptive and willing to help with a different phone that will serve your needs or an app you can download that will sync with outlook. I've always had great customer service with Verizon.
