Sync my Outlook Calendar, Address Book. To Droid's?

I was told when I purchased my phones that I would be able to sync my outlook information from my laptop to my Droid X with out any issues. I have since found out that Google Sync is not supported with Windows 7 and Office 2010. I was thinking that I would just recreate the entries in my phone but that would take forever since I have about 200 appointments scheduled a month. Any suggestions would be great.

I was told that too, but it's not that simple. The droid x seems to be tied to Google, Verizon (or Moto) must have some agreement. Anyway, I had to install Google/outlook sync on my PC and then copy all my contacts/calendar entries to Google, which then I could copy to my phone. But I didn't;t have outlook notes or tasks. I found I could use CompanionLink to sync my phone with outlook, but it's not very clean. I had to install an app on my phone that syncs with the phone's calendar and contacts, then I can sync (via USB) outlook with the phone app, then sync the phone app with the phone's calendar and contacts. It's pretty ugly but it works. I now can see my outlook notes and tasks on the phone. My blackberry was MUCH better at syncing with Outlook, but the droid X is cooler. Oh Well

I was told the same thing!!! My email as well. They flat out lie to you to get you to buy the cool phone!!!!!! It is utter bull**bleep**

Hopefully the developers will see this need and provide an APP in the near future. I have the same issue - I have OUTLOOK on my Laptop that contains all my Calendar entries. If I add an Event on my DROID X, there SHOULD be something that auto-syncs it with OUTLOOK when I boot up my laptop; without jumping through a bunch of hoops.

We have always been able to do this over the air without needing any kind of extension... it's called an Exchange Server. That's what Outlook was made for. I understand you may be looking for something that is not as expensive, but an exchange server offers everything you're looking for, or use Google.

There has always been an easy way to sync with Outlook (on my computer) without using an exchange server on every other phone I've owned, especially my blackberry. The Droid is the first one that makes it very clumsy and difficult.

I use Google Calendar Sync to sync my Outlook to my gmail calendar then to my Droid X. It works out very well and the sync has been perfect so far. My desktop is Outlook 2007, Windows 7 64bit. I have been using it for little over a month with no problems. I have it set up for 2 way sync every two hours.

I do not sync my contacts back and forth because I keep my phone contacts seperate from my Outlook.

Before I open the Droid box I would like to hear from a Black Berry owner that actually has used the outlook address book on the new droi X ....ANY ONE out there I need to be able to receive 2 seperate E-Mail accounts as well as keep the address book up to date ... have 200 plus contact

I am used to the Blackberry way to synch too. I exported contacts and calendar in to a csv file then imported them in to Google. I am using IMAP for my email accounts which works very well. There should be a better way which I am still looking for, in the meantime this works.

I use just what the Droid has for email and contacts. I did not add any apps to do this job.

I guess I'm a snob when it comes to NOT wanting to use the gmail service for my business emails. Since I have a small home based business with my own website domain, I decided to use a Hosted Exchange server. Once I set up the Hosted Exchange server with my email account, I downloaded the 30 day trial of TouchDown by Nitrodesk from the Market. As soon as I configured TouchDown to sync with my Exchange server it pulled in my business emails, contacts, tasks and calendar without issue. I've been using TouchDown for 13 days (in Trial Mode) so far and it has been great. If I enter an appointment in my calendar on my DROID X by the time I get home that appointment is sitting in my Outlook calendar. I want to get the Froyo 2.2 update before having to purchase the licensed version of TouchDown because I want to make sure it works with 2.2 before spending the money...
