Does anyone know a way to sync with outlook without plugging in to the computer. I've had a treo for years and got used to it syncing with outlook by itself.

Do you want to connect with an Exchange server?

I work out of my home, therefore my home computer is my "server" . I use Gmail but would like my Microsoft Outlook to sync with my new phone wirelessly as my Treo did via PC monitor. I have been able to sync with the USB cord, but I would like it to happen automatically like it used to. I have been told I need 3rd party software, but am reluctant to download something without a recommendation from someone who has had it work.

It sounds as if Gmail is your email server, not your PC. Unless your Treo was only receiving email when you were near your PC, it was syncing with Gmail, not your PC. You should be able to sync your phone with Gmail and have the same result as before.

Are you wanting to sync more than just emails? (For instance, Outlook's calendar?) Do you use Google's calendar and then sync it with your Outlook?

If you want to just sync emails from Gmail, there is no good reason -- that I can think of -- in which you would want to include Outlook as a middle man. And even that is impossible, I suppose, since you don't have your own server.

- Perform a soft reset by removing the battery and powering back on
Once you have done this it should begin to work properly.
