TN files...need help!!!

I downloaded all of my photos to my PC for the first time using the USB. Everything seemed ok once completed, so I then put my memory card back into the phone and erased it. Today I went to my PC to open photos and all files are TN format and I can not get any to open. I have tried downloading numerous apps to convert or open files with no success. I nee help and am desperate. I have many photos that cannot be replaced. If anyone has a solution please contact me. >Personal email address deleted<

What is TN format?

If TN format uses the .PNG extent you can just replace the .PNG with the .JPG extent and your photos will be easily viewed as jpegs. I have erased .PNG and typed in .JPG may times and it works.

In any case take one of your photos and erase the .TN extent and replace it with a .JPG extent to see if you can view the picture.

Typically TN would indicate a very small size "Thumb Nail" file . . .Like those on your phone gallery screen.

Hopefully you truly downloaded the full size image files (and just can't find them on you PC) from your SD card and NOT just the thumbnail files.

I downloaded all the pics from my SD card to my PC with the USB cable as directed by the Droid Charge. I do not recall it asking me anything regarding what type file. This is the first time I've downloaded mass photos this way. I have transferred individual photos via bluetooth without problem. Now, I have all these files I cannot open and I have deleted all the originals from the SD card because it was full.

Rule 1: Never delete files you have moved until you verify that they were moved properly and are usable!

Did you look at the web site I posted or try .JPG?

One more thing to try . . . Search your drive(s) for the file name of one of your "TN" extension files - But leaving off the "TN" extension when you search.

Then cross your fingers that your full-size image files are still on the drive, just hidden from you in an unknown folder.

Rule 2: If you're not going to post something helpful that leads to a solution, don't post anything. Your .JPG suggestion doesn't work. Already tried all the easy stuff.

I have an older LG flip/keyboard phone. I have a mini SD card and tried to move my pics off of my card onto computer. It transferred a few as jpg's and the others were in a folder called "cache" or something like that and would not open. After playing with the picture functions in my camera for quite some time I finally tried this and it worked.

Got to "my pictures", open the 1st picture, choose "options", choose "manage pictures", choose "move to card", mark each picture that you want moved, choose "done", choose "move to card and restore defaults".

It should move all of your pictures to the card and change them to jpg format. Then transfer them to your computer (I used a card reader). Came up immediately as jpg's when I did this.
