As for my favorite...my answer is, "Don't install one!"
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Had Task Killer, uninstalled it, noticed no difference in battery drainage. So, I agree with Ann154, you don't need one.

It all depends on how you use it. I've been using ATK for most of the time I've had my phone and I like it. However I wouldn't purchase one right now because....
Android 2.3 includes a task killer. And from the sounds of it, the update is just a couple days/weeks away. For all the talk the Android Devs made about the O/S not needing a Task killer, it's pretty odd they are now including them as a tool for the O/S.
Also the Task Killer tool coming with 2.3 will show how much memory, processor power and battery drain each running app is consuming, both in their running state and background state. I'm sure these revelations will show us why ATKs are so effective for some people like myself.

I can get that same information now with System Panel Lite a task manager available free on the market.
System Panel doesn't show the effects of the current or background apps on your battery. The main point is that Android is supplying the task killer as a tool after preaching that it was not needed.
