A friend sent me some photos and when I received them it asked if wanted to send a notification of receipt I clicked yes and now I have some undelivered messages that I can't get rid of. How do I get rid of them without resetting my phone to factory?

Go to the Messaging app and you will see a + (Plus) in upper right hand corner with probally a number oin a circle, click it and you will see unset messages, click the - (Minus) icon to the rightof each message listed and they will be removed from the list to be sent.....
Also since this happened you may want to also check that your email default account is set to a email with sending rights because I believe the one you have set wont send out on that account: Goto
Messaging app screen Left Menu button > Message Settings >Email > Default email Account and select the account you want to use.

The plus symbol doesn't have a number on it and clicking on the + starts a new message.

Ok here something else to try then, check which default email account is being used and them open that email account page and see if it shows unsent messages because that is what usually causes the issue you reported. Also what information do you get when you pull down the notification bar at the time when you recieve notice of unsent emails?

I'm not finding any unsent messages. The notification says 5 text messages not sent tap to view messages and of course when you tap it it takes you to the text message inbox.

Oh its a text message, sorry thought you was speaking of emails... Ok there usually is a red mark next to the message in text threader view, all you have to do is press and hold those massages and select delete from list.
