Text Problems

As of today, I can send messages and I can receive them. However- I cannot see either. I can still receive phone calls and people tell me that they got my message but I their name highlights in my text message list but when I open their history to see the new text they sent me it does not show a new text. Also, it does not show the text that I sent them.

Overall:

I can send texts but I can't see that I sent them.

I get notifications that I have new texts for me to read but I can't see them.

I've done several reboots and also a reprogram using *228.

Hey cabersowl,

I am so sorry to learn that you are having an issue viewing your text messages. It does seem very peculiar, so we are here to help!

It does seem like you have done some great troubleshooting, so thank you! In addition to what you have already done, I would want to know if you have installed any applications recently. For example, there are third party messaging applications that may interfere with the native application for messages on the phone (Handscent, Go SMS, ect). Please uninstall these applications if you have any of them currently on the phone.

Also, how long has this been going on? Are these messages to EVERYONE or is it just certain people that are not showing in your messages list? Can you possibly tell me how you are going about sending a text step by step on your phone? Does this also happen with other notifications like e-mails or Facebook? Please let us know about these answers so we can further troubleshoot.

As a last resort, I would want you to start your device in Safe Mode. This is to make sure that there aren't any other applications that may be jeopardizing the messaging application on your phone. Please follow these steps:

1. Power the device all the way off
2. Press the Power button and home button (small house) at the same time.
3. Keep holding all the way through the boot up process (about 30 seconds)
4. It will say Safe Mode in the lower left hand corner of the screen

Keep the phone like this and see if you are able to see any of your messages. If you are, there is an application (or possible there are multiple applications) that is causing your phone to not display your messages. I would do some spring cleaning and take out any un-used applications that you no longer need.
