Go to settings > applications > manage applications > all tab > scroll down to the Dialer Storage. Select it and press the clear data button and then press the force close button if available.

Where would I find that? I have opened up the text message messaging app. I have clicked the menu button and selected messaging settings. I do not see anything about a cache. Is it in another area?
Nevermind thank you for the clarification!
Ok I went to clear cache and the button was not highlighed to be able to click and it said cache 0.00B I went ahead and clicked the clear data button but it didnt fix the problem. Every time I open the text messaging app the notification pops up "2 text messages not sent". I tried restarting my phone to see if that would help. And again got the same notification. Do you perhaps have any other ideas that I can try. It can get a little annoying at times. I like to keep my notifications cleared out and this problem will not allow me to do that.

To clear that app's cache, go to "settings/applications/manage applications/all". Scroll down and find the app. If it's an aftermarket app, try un-installing and re-installing the app.

I had an issue just like this where i had a return receipts stuck in queue that would not send. Someone else suggested i download an App called history Eraser which allows you to delete return receitps as well as outgoing and incoming and draft messages. That did it for me. looks like it does the same thing as the above except you can just tell it to clear which part is stuck and not all your messages.
