How long can any and all data from texts be recovered for legal purposes, even numbers and general info besides the actual content. I think Verizon keeps contenet for 20 days but what about general data retrieval like just the number?
How about phone records? how long are numbers kept in your system and how long are they available for court retrieval?

You need a court order for the content of the text messages. I am not sure that they keep them as long as twenty days though.
The phone numbers and times for TO and FROM messages are viewable through My Verizon and looking at the details for each bill. I think they only keep a year's worth on the website though.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
