Text prediction stopped showing up. Still selected in options.

The little moving ribbon of words to tap and insert disappeared never to return! And I want it back!

If you are using Swype follow these steps to enable word prediction.

• Menu>Settings>Language & Keyboard>Swype Settings>Check/uncheck word prediction. 

If you are using the Multi-touch keyboard follow these steps to enable word prediction.

• Menu>Settings>Language & Keyboard>Multi-touch keyboard Settings>Check/uncheck Show Suggestions.

I checked and unchecked those boxes a bunch of times all before i wrote here!

Tried them in all sorts of combinations.

Currently they are all unchecked....

There, they are now checked...

nope.

that ribbon of words as suggestions that appear as you type and change as you get closer to the word is gone. And i do so want it back.

I suggest you perform a hard reset on your device. Performing a hard reset will remove ALL data including the Google account, system data, application data, application settings, and downloaded applications. Follow the directions below to perform the reset.

1. From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located at the bottom of the display).
2. Touch Settings.
3. Touch Privacy.
4. Touch Factory Data Reset.
5. Touch Reset Phone.
   If presented, enter the current passcode or draw the unlock pattern.
6. Touch Erase Everything.
