I just got my droid x about a week ago. Before that I had the droid pro. When I had the pro I put a text widget to one of my contacts and when I went to that widget it took me to the entire conversation. Now on my droid x the widget just let's me text but won't let me see the conversation. Is there a way to let me see everything or is that just how the x works?

Yep, long press on home screen. Pick shortcut then Contact. Then press on the + symbol on that widget to add the person, you can expand the widget to add quick multiple ways to contact. For your purposes just pick the txt number at first.

That's not really what I was looking for and it still won't let me see the entire conversation. I've tried long hold at home screen and doing the motorola widget for texting but that doesn't work either.

if you tap the back button it will take you to the previous text convo with that contact once you open it from that shortcut.

I'm sorry I'm not trying to be difficult but that still doesn't work. Whenever I had the pro the widget took me directly to the conversation as if I were to go to it through the main text message widget that is on the phone already that shows all the conversations. The shortcut widget just took me directly to that contact's messages.

I don't know what text app you are using, but there may be a market text app that will offer a widget that will do what you need.
I understand what you are getting at. I've never had that need, so I've not delved into trying it.
Look at Handcent, Chomp, and Go messaging.
Also, there may be a way to get that Droid Pro widget on your X. Unfortunately, you won't find it here, LOL. Do a search for "Android Forums" or sites and you just might find that widget, as I did with the News & Weather widget from the original Droid, before that widget was put on the phone in the Froyo update.
Good luck,
Geri O
