Texts not showing up in order?

Ever since upgrading to 2.2 whenever I recieve a text it will not show the most recent text first. For example it will show i have a text message from 1pm and under that it will say i have a unread textmessage from 3 pm. I've restarted my phone multiple times and It hasn't fixed anything. A friend is having a similar problem also. Any help?

I'm having the same issue, at first I thought I had deleted the most recent message and when I kept looking it was at the end of my list, when in fact should have been the first one up top.  Strange!

im not having that problem but ive noticed that when i send a txt msg longer than 3 pages (480 characters) it wont send it for some reason............my DX shows a blue arrow which means that its sending it but neverd does....................any help

I had the same issue at first, but it seems to have corrected itself as of today.

as of 30 hours later it is stil acting up. how did the reset work out?

same here ( its annoying, if you power off. it will work till you send a text LOL

Mine is acting the same way.

I turned power off and pulled battery. No change.

Same problem going on here.  I even had some texts say a 1960s date on them on the texts list.

I see some people that are saying their update is working great which doesn't make any sense and make me believe more that they are working for verizon just to say their update is great. The update is rubbish. 

PS.

If anyone say the update is working great for them with no issues that all of us suffering with at this point, should prove it with a video or a picture because. I'm sure all of us with the issues can provide that.

Mine does the same thing but its not a big deal. Im glad I can erase text history!

I am having the same issue.. I have done everything I can think of and it hasn't been fixed.. I don't feel like waiting on hold all day, otherwise I would call tech support. It's annoying because I have a lot of texts on my phone that I can't delete yet so I have to constantly scroll down..

So you are saying that the people with problems are able to substantiate their issues with video or pictures, but those of us without problems are not able to do the same thing? I'm not having issues, but as you can plainly see in my other, shall we say, more detailed response to your post with this same attitude, I don't care if you believe me or not. 

Two quick suggestions: Hard reset and use the Handscent text message app.

I don't wanna do a hard reset and I don't feel that it should be necessary to rely on 3rd party software to have a basic sort perform in a way that not only is logical, but worked in the previous OS version. 

I am starting to believe that the tests are sorted my the number of tests within each thread.  I have 3 people that I text most an their threads keep fill-flopping for top spot.

So let me get this straight....the issue you are having is that the CONTACTS you send and receive messages to and from aren't showing up in the order you send them???? I thought the issue was that the messages for a given contact were out of order. 

Every Android phone I've ever owned always puts the latest contact you sent or received messages from at the top of the list. What is wrong with that?

That is the problem.  I spent 30 minutes texting with my daughter this morning.  Her messges were 3 conversations down from the top.  The 2 above hers were from last night.  Before the update, it was sorted with the conversation with the newest text at the top.

Since then, I've texted a co-worker several times this morning and that thread is still sorted just below my duaghter's.

It just seems to me that they aren't sorted my date received anymore.

Geri,If you would of read a lot bit more you would of noticed a hard reset didnt do anything. Also the handcent application provides the same error.
