The internet...

The internet on my phone is no longer working. Has anyone else had this problem? I have an unlimited data plan, so something must be wrong, right?

Try pulling the battery and then put it back in and start the phone.

I ocassionally lose my 3G connection (internet) and I can just put the phone in airplane mode, then turn airplane mode back off. Works every time. I have a widget on my homescreen for GPS, wifi, and airplane mode, so I just tap it once, then again and all is well.

It might also help to update your PRL (Preferred Roaming List). Dial *228, option 2.

Thank you for all of the previous responses.  You are all correct.  It may also help to clean the cache, cookies, and history, which will free up space, refresh your browser, and you will have a faster connection.  Below I have provided you with steps to clean the cache.

 

 

  • Open your browser
  • Select [Menu]
  • Select [Settings]
  • Select [Clear Cache]
  • Confirm [Ok]
  • Select [Clear History]
  • Confirm [Ok]
  • Select [Clear all cookie data]
  • Confirm [Ok]
You can also remove the battery from your device for 20-30 seconds and power back on.  The steps above are recommended at least once a week to have the best Internet service available at all times.
