imoh, vcast is worthless unless you're buying ringtones/music from verizon, same with trying to sync music on computer to phone.

use the charging cable into the laptop usb and from within windows media player, "copy to cd or device", one album at a time.

i found the music needed to be cataloged as to album/artist/song title in windows media player to xfer into the phone to show artist/album/songs.

if you don't put a song title, you'll see a lot of track 1, 2 3, etc.

in my computer or windows explorer/my choice, you'll see the motorola device  probably as "e" and the sd chip as "f".

hilite "f"/file "new" and create "my music'. i also created my pics.

pics can be drag/dropped from my documents/my pictures to the new folder "my pics" on the sd chip.

hope this helps.

i'm using xphome and no drivers were needed from a cd.

Open Itunes or Vcast.  Select the songs you want to move by highlighting them, to highlight songs not in a row, hold down shift, then left click.

Once you have them selected, go to edit in the top left and click copy, or click ctrl + C, or right click one of the selected items and click copy.

Plug your Droid X into your PC.  Use USB Mass storage mode.

Find "my computer" on your computer.  It's an icon that looks like a computer, or go to start in the bottom left (OR it may look like a windows logo).  click on computer.

Locate something called removable disk.  Open it.

Find a folder called Music.

If none exists, create one.  Right click anywhere on the screen, click new, then click folder.  Name it Music.

Open up the Music Folder, right click anywhere and click paste.

If it fails to transfer that one file, locate it and try to open it on your computer.  it may be corrupted.

cut/paste doesn't work for music, that's why i posted "copy to device" from within wmp if using pc/laptop/vcast.

Does it matter vcast shows device as Motorola Xtrm instead of DroidX. Seems to me that it isn't working correctly if X isn't showing.

One other questioin in regards to pics. When I access them on  phone it shows camera pics, thumbnail pics, downloads and all other pics (example Madden logos and uniforms) is there a way to have it just show the camera pics.

I know the workaround to just go to the DCIM folder in the removable disk drive and copy/paste/move from there.

Just curious.

i don't use vcast and was able to xfer individual pics and entire folders by drag/drop from the computer to the sd card.

whatever format you have the pics will be what you see on the phone.

if you want just camera pics, delete the others.
