Trouble Mounting SD Card

My phone froze several times today and I've been trying to re-mount my SD Card. I have tried shutting down my phone, taking out the battery and SD card, manually going through the settings and SD Storage options on my phone... and nothing works. Whenever I plug the SD Card back in, it gives me a message "SD Card safe to remove."

I'm using a Droid Incredible. Can anyone help???

Card's bad. Just go to Wal Mart and get a new micro SD card. 4 Gig cards are only $10 now maybe less.It will come pre-formatted.

Not real sure that either of these will work, but you could try connecting your phone to the computer via USB (with the card inserted) and enable it as a disk drive.  Maybe this will cause your phone to re-mount the card when you unplug the phone.  If this doesn't work, you might try reformatting your card (make sure you do a backup first).  This can be done with a computer, and should be formatted as FAT32 (I think it's the default).  Hopefully one of these works for you.

Thanks for your reply and ideas to solve the problem. I tried both, and unfortunately neither worked. I've been searching online for a solution, but can't seem to find one. I might just bring it back to Verizon and let them deal with it. I've spent a whole day trying to figure it out already. hmmm

Do you know what would cause that? I never had any trouble with it, and then one second my screen froze and the sd card stopped functioning for certain applications.

Sometimes it just happens, my wife had a card go bad in her Droid for no apparent reason.

Sometimes if the card get dismounted of forced to dismount like what happens from a battery pull you can have issues like this happen if the card was in the middle of writting data to it....

But under most situations things just happens like demmo86rt reported..

Do you recommend that I just bring it to Verizon and have them fix it? Is this something they will fix? Or, will they charge a fee?

Thanks again for all your responses.

You could try, but when my wife took hers in, they basically said they have no way to know if it was the original card.
