Trouble with picture messaging

I cannot send or recieve picture messages. It says unable to send at this time. try again later...can someone please tell me if i have a setting wrong?

Do you have your WiFi off and your 3G or 4G on? I know for sure that you cannot send or receive picture messages without data on, but I'm not sure if having WiFi and data on prevents you from receiving. For me, if I have my WiFi on at all, I definitely can't send pictures.

I also am having the same issues on my Motorola RAZR.  Regardless what setting I enable, it wont send pics.

This may be the answer. 

When my Mobile Data is ON and you also turn on WiFi it disables Mobile Data even though if you bring down the notification screen Mobile Data shows that it is still ON.  In fact it shows both WiFi and Mobile Data as being ON.

NOW  look at the top right corner of the Home Page display screen where it shows the battery, and so forth.  You will now see that WiFi is ON and Mobile Data is NOT ON.  It does not show 3G or 4G.

WiFi seems to trump Mobile Data.

By the way my GUESS is that if you bring down the notification screen and turn OFF mobile data leaving only WiFi ON your messages might use the WiFi.  If so there is some conflict between the two.  PLEASE TELL ME DISABLING MOBILE DATA  WORKS.

Picture messaging can be tricky on smartphones. The community members have noted some great troubleshooting steps to try. Oftentimes, wifi does conflict with a device's ability to send and receive picture messages. In addition to what was previous provided, I recommend checking the file size of the picture that is trying to be sent or received. There are size limitations based on the device that is sending and receiving the picture message. To ensure that your picture messaging is working properly, please review the troubleshooting steps below.

• Verify signal strength and what type of signal is on the device. (4G, 3G, 1X)
• Erase any long threaded text messages from the device.
• Change battery mode to Performance mode.
• Verify that background data, data roaming, and mobile data enabled is active in settings.
• Turn off bluetooth and wifi in settings.
• Do a battery and SIM card pull while the device is on then re-insert and reboot.
• Test to ensure that you are able top browse the internet on the web browser.
• Verify the file size of the picture that is being sent/receive.

Once you have performed the steps above then retry the ability to send and receive picture messages. If you are still having issues then please reply to this message with your findings as I may need to further investigate.

FYI - Here are the file sizes for picture messaging based on camera quality.

•   Devices that are 1X capable only can send / receive a maximum file size of 350 KB. 
•   Devices that are 3G or LTE can send / receive a maximum file size of 1200 KB.
  Lowering the camera resolution will reduce the image file size.

I found a handy little free app on the Play Store called 'Restore Connectivity Settings - Motorola'.  It resets the phone and reboots quickly.  I found that when I have an SMS or MMS that is hanging, using this app restores my phones connectivity and sends the message even when I'm connected to WiFi.

Your APP says Motorola.  Did you install it on a Samsung Charge Phone (I-510) or on a Motorola Phone???
