I have tried repeatedly to assign an existing picture from my gallery to a contact but after I edit it and save it just adds it to the gallery instead of to the contact...and I was in the edit mode on that contact. Please help?

How are you access menu to add photo?  Give this a try

1. Open Contact Information

2. Click left button to get menu

3. Select Edit

4. Click Photo Button next to Contacts Name

5. Click "Use Existing Photo"  from menu

6. Click "Gallery"

7. Browse to location for photo and select image

8. Resize image box to size

9. Click Save

This always worked for me, hope this helps....

I have tried that multiple times and just finished going through gallery first and menu>more>set as>and assigning to contact, that didn't work either...what is so frustrating is it worked earlier on another contact.  I even powered off and back on.  This is very frustrating!!

Thanks for trying to help :smileyhappy:

other threads on this topic have suggested that the 'linked' accts, i.e. facebook, overrides selecting a contact photo this way...i have tried repeatedly with no luck, but still have facebook linked.

good luck, please post if you find a solution!

You got me on that one because I use Full Screen Caller ID and facebook, My Space and all those other groups only list small images that makes the quality terrible in full screen mode, besides I have read on a number of forums using that feature has a tendacy to cause a system to lag alot because its aways tring to retrieve updated information, also its not good on the battery.
