I recently purchased an HTC Incredible 2, and have had it for about 5 weeks. I really liked the phone when I purchased it even though I've had several different problems with it, which I'm trying to work through. I only noticed in the last week or so that I get no sound when I turn the phone on. Once the phone gets past the start up to the home screen I get sound sometime, and sometimes I don't. When I shut down the phone I get no sound. I am so accustomed to hearing sound at turn on and turn off I am woundering is this normal for this phone. I have owned several phones since being with Verizon, and have always had sound/music at turn on and turn off. This is the first android phone I've purchased, and right now I'm not liking it as much as my old LG EN Touch. I passed my window for returning it so I guess I'm stuck with it. I have other issue which I will question at onther time if I can't get them worked out.

Give these two or three things a try:
1. Do a battery pull, pull the battery while the phone is on while the battery is out hold the power button for 10 sec.
then reinsall the battery power it up an see if it solved the issue. if not do a phone reset
2.to this go into you contacts bring up the dial pad an hit *228 then send an do this with speakerphone on so you can hear the instructions an it will tell you to hit 1 to do phone reset or 2 to do a PRL update hit option 1 an let it do its thing an it may shut down the phone but thats ok an then it will repower itself up again while it does this listen an see if the sound or sound come back.
3. if these two things don't correct the problem for ya call Verizon an go to the teck dept. an ask for an Android specialist let them know of your issue an ask if a factory reset will fix the issue if it will have them walk you thru the factory reset an this should resolve the problem.
An as for factory resets they're not to hard to do. an they're good to do them especially when a new OS comes out like Gingerbread or others Os's that phone will recieve in the future. an when they do come a teck can help you thru the process. But let me kow the out come an god luck too ya
