I recently bought the ECO Micro-USB wall charger with the 9' foot data cable. It works great as a charger but the cable does not work as a data cable between my phone and computers. The stock charger USB cable work great but is a bit short. With the ECO cable the phone just stays in charging mode as if the usb cable is connected to the charger. Do I just have a defective 9' cable or does this cable truely NOT work with the Bionic as a data cable?

Well I saw that same thing and that apparently is what VZ wants. But if so they shouldn't advertise the charger that I got as having a data cable because it only works for charging. YA think?

Same problem...I have the 9 ft cable, the cable that came with the phone and a 12in cable...only the cable that came with the phone works for data transfer, which is a real bummer since I really like using the 12in cord when on my laptop since i have my BB and mouse already plugged up, and only the cable for the BB works for syncing so I have cords everywhere!

Hmmm....this non-Motorola cable works for me for tethering and other PC-to-Bionic data transfer and charging.
Works and ultra-inexpensive.
