I've had my X since Sept 2010 but over the past 48 hours or so I have been unable to make or receive phone calls. I can dial out but I hear nothing even though it shows that my call is connected-the person on the other end cannot hear me but their phone does ring and they answer but then there's nothing. My phone will ring when someone calls but when I answer it again there is nothing there for me or the caller. I can text, play games, surf the internet ect... basically everything is working fine except the ability to actually use the X as a phone......any thoughts out there before I have to go hang out in the Verizon store for a few hours to get it figured out? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

My Droid X hasn't been working for about 5 hours now. It won't let me do anything. I can not call out nor can I receive any calls. It says I have no service available. I have tried to reactivate it which does not work. I have also contacted Verizon who I can not reach at this time. I need my phone. Perhaps I should start looking for service with another provider if I can no longer rely on Verizon. This is very frustrating when your phone will not work. But yet my broadband is working just fine. Which makes absolutely no sense at all.
Any ideas to help would be deeply appreciated.

Can you call 1-800-92-0204 from another phone? A landline perhaps and ask if there is issues with any towers.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

It might be helpful for the rest of us reading your posts if we knew where you are generally located at. Zipcode, city, anything.

Is that the complete telephone number, Ann154? Yes, it appears that there is tower outage. When you power up your phones, at the beginning it will say "searching for service" or something to that effect, and then Verizon will come in. If this doesn't happen, I would suspect tower outage. There is a long-shot, but possibly you pressed the decrease button, which is easy to do, for calls so much so that it is now mute. Try calling someone and press the increase button. See if that helps.

I have had this problem from time to time and it's always remedied with a battery pull reset.

A soft reset may resolve the issues outlined on your post. To perform a soft reset on your phone please follow the instructions below:
Remove battery with phone ON. Replace battery after 10 seconds. Power phone ON. Allow phone to complete the applications registration.
Please be assured that our goal is to resolve your equipment concerns. If you are still experiencing audio issues when making/receiving calls please contact us from another phone at 1-800-922-0204 at your convenience (as indicated by Ann154, thank you!) and select option 3, please have your mobile phone fully charged and available for troubleshooting when you call us.

Another thing to try that sometimes work in dial *228 and option #1 to update system programming... Also there has been a number of users that ended up resolving with a hard reset..
