Unable to send email when WiFi is On.

Every time I try to send an email message (pop3 account) it hangs in the Outbox and I receive Unable to Send error messages until I turn WiFi off.  Turning WiFi off allows the email to depart.  Not a huge deal, but kind of a pain!

Try doing a soft reset on the device.

Soft Reset

  1.  Power the device off, then remove and reinsert battery.

The administrative settings for the wifi connection the device is connected to maybe blocking  emails being sent from the device. Try checking the wireless router settings and device settings.

Swannyva,
What is the isp (hotmail, aol, comcast, etc.) you are using? Mobile settings for email addresses are different. Can you please give us a little more information and someone can help you narrow down the problem.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Thank you for replying, Ann154.  I have my own URL with email supported by Network Solutions.  Pretty straight forward pop and smtp settings.  I don't think that's the problem, but if I knew for sure, I wouldn't have created this thread!  I do know that my Incredible handles email very well, in and out, unless I am connected to any WiFi, at which point outbound messages hang in the outbox.  If I turn WiFi off, the message immediately heads on its way!  I haven't delved into my router's settings, as this happens on any WiFi network.

I have no other known problems with WiFi vs. 3G connections, except I did have to turn WiFi off recently while in a hotel trying to us a location-based app (Dunkin' Donuts).  The app kept giving me an error until I thought to turn the WiFi off.  Browser use over WiFi seems quite normal, as it does on 3G.

Thanks again.

When I did a search for Network Solutions email setting for Android, I got two different company websites with that name.  Here are the links I found to have more helpful information.  See if one of them is the network solutions you use and if it helps you.
