I am attempting to take a picture of my screen (screenshot) on my DROID X.
I have checked here in the forum, and found that in order to do this I need to press the Home button and the Power button at the same time. I have tried this, and everytime my screen goes black (hitting the power button always makes my screen go black and lock). Is there a way to change the settings for the functionality of the power button, so I can take a screenshot? Maybe I am doing this wrong??,,,
Thank you in advance for any info, suggestions, etc.

There is no Stock App / option to take a Screen shot ... there are some 3rd party APPs in Market, some Free. Personally I haven't tried any of them so not sure how well they work. Just do a Search for "Screen Capture" in Market.

PS - I wanted to add that typically you can't do screen caprture on non-rooted phones ... which to do is a violation of your TOS. So if you can find an APP to do this in a non-rooted fashion that would be your best source.

If you download the Android SDK, you can take screenshots with a prgram that is included with the SDK. The only drawback is that you have to be tethered to your computer via USB cable for it to work. This is a non rooted solution, but not very pratical if your not by a computer.
