Unreliable 3G in NYC

For the past few months, my 3g connection has been unstable, it goes between 3g and 1x when I am moving about in the city.  Is this a issue with the network or my phone?  It is quite annoying that I can not use the data on the phone when I am walking around NYC.  And, when I have 3G, it crawls to a point in whcih I can not stream pandora, youtube or even browse the web.

It is frustrating that I can not use the phone;s data function unless I am connected to a wifi.  Kind of having 3G on the phone.  Anyone else have similiar issues?  If so, how did you resolve it?

You are not alone.  I too have horrible network connections on my Inc2 in Ann Arbor, MI.  This town is so wired it is pathetic, but my phone reception is horrid.  Speed test is 27 kb/sec - I could get faster results with a string and tin cup!  I thought it was my phone - used to have a Motorola Droid and I just got my Inc2 two weeks ago and it does the same thing!  Where is the network, and whre is there help with this?

I am sorry I cannot tell you how I solved this because I have not.  I there any help for the 'network'?  This is no way to 'rule the air'....its just a lot of hot air.......I would be happy with 2G, that would at least put me in the 1960's.

Thanks for posting.  I understand how the network issues you are having can be very frustrating.  In order to resolve your issue please PM me your mobile telephone number so I can research your account and see what kind of options we have for you? Thanks.

Samuel:

Thank you for the offer to follow up, but I am a bit of neo on this community forum functionality.  I would PM you if I knew what to do for that.    How does one do that?  I have looked around the site but cannot find how I find out.  give me clue and I would be glad to give you the information you asked for  because is it frustrating, especially since my new phone acts just like the old one which I thought was failing (or at least it radio was weakening over time - but that I find now is not the case.

So if you give me a clue how I can PM you I would.

Click on his name(link) which will bring you to a page with his user information such as old posts. On the right hand side of the page under "Contact" will be a link, "Send this user a private message". Click on that link, fill out the message and hit send.

thank you.   What I found I was not doing - because I was not getting the 'send a private message' option when I followed the link on his name - was logging into the community.  I did not realize that one had to log into the community with a different log in link.  I was always using the sign in in the upper right corner of the banner which logged me in (again and again) into My Verizon but not the forum community.  Then I finally found the log in link under the Community splash on the left hand side.  Once I got that done, then the 'send private message' option appeared on the personal link.   Thanks for letting me know where I should expect to find the link.  That forced me to look ever harder to find what was not working.    Got a message off to the VZ guy.
