My droid 2 displays a notification that 2 text messages were unable to send. I cleared out all of my messages, but now anytime I open the text menu the notification still pops up. I've taken out the battery to reset the phone, but still having problems. Can someone help me out?

Are you using the stock messaging application? If you are still experiencing the same issue, I suggest to reset your device back to factory settings. Please keep in mind performing a hard reset will remove ALL data including the Google account, system data, application data, application settings, and downloaded applications. Follow the steps below to perform a hard reset.
- From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located at the bottom of the display).
- Touch Settings.
- Touch Privacy.
- Touch Factory Data Reset.
- Touch Reset Phone.
If presented, enter the current passcode or draw the unlock pattern.
- Touch Erase Everything.

i just got this phone and i love it but i recently got the same notification, that a text was unable to send and now the icon wont go away and its driving me crazy! and when i go to view the message the apparently wouldnt sent, it says the message is unavailable to view. is there any way to get the icon to go away with out doing a factory reset? i'd really prefer not to have to set everything up again and download all my apps again. thanks for any help!

I recommend that you do a battery pull. You can complete this process by:
- Removing the battery from the device.
- Press and hold the power button 15 seconds.
- Replace the battery and power the device back on.
