Unwanted Stuff

This is my second Droid but this came with a news program and several games I don't want as well as the huge camera widget and the wiget for the news program.  The camera doesn't seem to move so I can't slide it to the trash and several of the programs seem to have the uninstall blacked out.  Has anyone encountered this problem and come up with a fix.

Managed to get rid of everything but that huge camera thing which reacts like a regular widget but you can't dump it in the trash.  Thanks for the help.

You can't uninstall preinstalled apps.

I was afraid of that.  Do you know if you can move some of the widgets that seem to be stuck in one place or must I live with them for the life of the phone?

You should be able to remove any widget you want. Press and hold the top of the widget, it should vibrate and change color, then drag it to the trash.

Sounds like you are referring to the photo widget. You should be able to drag it go the trash can, but it is a tricky maneuver because of it's size.

Be sure it turns red before releasing it.

If you still have a problem, ask a friend with an X, or go by a Verizon store.

That's the one.  I can get it to turn red but it won't go in the trash can. Will keep trying.  managed to get rid of all the other stuff so I'm a happy woman, more room for widgets for the apps I really like.

I had some trouble too, that's why I figured this was the one. Keep trying. You'll get it.

Thanks.  I've gotten it to turn red but somehow it won't go in the trash.  Ah well, there's always the last resort, Verizon.

Sometimes, with those pesky apps and widgets that won't turn red when you drag them over the trach can, I get them to turn red by dragging them to one side or the other while "holding" it over the trash can.

Sometimes....(geez, what visuals this invokes)...

Finally got rid of the silly thing.  Wish Verizon wouldn't try to help so much with pre installed stuff.
