Update to GB

Since my update to GB I have been very dissapointed, first the battery use has been cut in half, next the network goes to sleep at random and will not wake untill i force a restart, I have missed alot of calls and think it is time to go to Microsoft or apple, it seems android gave its best effort and verizon cannot verify or work well with others. since i was a primco customer back in the days it seems verizon has reached the end

Why is it that the first post from a user always goes to the threat of leaving the company before they even reported troubleshooting anything???  Apple is restricted and Windows Mobile is limited, there is no way I could consider them worth the time...

 

The battery life on my device has increased after GB and as for the data going to sleep I agree with Cody that this could be a setting or maybe a app installed.

I haven't had any problems with my X since the update. My battery life has increased, actually.

OP - do you happen to have a Power Mode set to turn off your network after no activity after a while? It's one of the power setting option in SETTINGS

I am expierencing some of these issues on my DX since the GB update. My battery life has remained constant, if not slightly improved; however, I am having serious issues with data connection. Power settings are to allow data connection/syncing at all times (no sleep mode), yet I loose the 3G connection andy syncing to my Gmail accounts and my CorpSync at least once per day. The only way I have found to restore the connection is to go through a power cycle (off/on). I tried setting my phone to airplane mode and back, and that did not seem to restore the sync issues. This has lead me to constantly check my phone's 3G symbol to see if I have a connection throughout the day. I can go a few hours without looking at my phone, notice the lost connection, restart and come to find I have 30+ emails that should have been delivered to me durring that time. 

 

All settings seem to be correct and I did not have any of these issues before the OTA GB update. I have completed a factory reset (even though I hate doing that) and that has not solved the problem. I went to a local Verizon store to talk to Tech but couldn't afford to wait 45+ minutes in the line.  I will attempt to stop back in there later in the week.

OP, 

I understand why you are frustrated with these issues after updating your software. If you have already tried basic troubleshooting (pulling the battery, turning off the mobile network and back on), I would suggest doing a factory reset. This will erase your information that is not on the memory card and reset the phone to default settings. You will need your Gmail information to set the phone up again. The factory reset can be found here:

 

From the main screen, touch menu tab
Touch Settings
Touch Privacy
Touch Factory Data reset
Touch Reset Phone
Touch Erase Everything
