Updated Design for Shell/Holster Combo

I've had my shell/holster combo for my X since last September.  I like it and it has served me well till the other day.  I was quickly exiting the Suburban and the phone got caught on the seat, snapping the pivot joining the holster to the clip.  A quick stop at the local Verizon store revealed that there were none in stock so they ordered one for me and I received it two days later.

The new shell and holster is slightly thicker than my original.  I'm assuming to accommodate the extended battery?  I can't say for sure because I still use the original battery.  The shell also has a pull/fold out type stand that will allow you to stand up the X in both the horizontal and vertical positions.  Not sure if this subject has already been addressed or not but thought I'd pass it on!

Interesting.  I also have/use the shell/holster combo, and I've done the exact same thing.  In fact, I've done it 3 times now.  It is actually a pretty good design in that the pivot doesn't actually break.  With enough force, it snaps off, but can be re-installed.  There is a total of 3 parts; the holster body, the pivoting spring clip, and a small button-type piece.  Snap the pivot clip back into place (it's not easy, but can be done), then pop the button piece back in, which locks it.

I'll have to check out the new version though; a stand would be nice.

if it's made to fit the ext batt, how's the fit with the regular batt?

Toyota...I had hoped that the pivot had just popped out, but it actually  snapped off one of those tabs!  Bearone, the X fits just fine in the new shell with the regular battery.

Since a picture is worth a thousand words, (and unfortunately I'm not sure about this inserting picture thing) here is the link to my Flicker photos of the new shell.
