After upgrading to Froyo, I no longer have a market place app. All apps I have downloaded are present and everything on the phone seems to be in working order. I have don the battery pull, but still have no Marketplace app.
Any suggestions on how to get the Marketplace app back?

Factory Reset solved the problem! I had to reinstall all of my apps. That said, phone seems to be running faster and smoother. So maybe there is an upside to cleaning the slate.

Don't have appbrain? Is there a way to download/install the marketplace from a web browser?

I think I'm having the same problem. My husband and I both got Droid Incredibles this morning. He got the notice for an update and installed it with no problems. I got the notice for an update and installed it only to find that my marketplace app had been deleted.

For me, it's also missing from the apps list. The widget is still on my homepage, but when I click it, it says that the app has been deleted.

I need to go search for an article I saw about a month ago. It mentioned something about Verizon wanting have their own marketplace. I did not think much about it at the time.

The Marketplace App is missing from my phone completely. Not just shortcut, it is also not present in the main App menu.

There is an app on the phone called App Share. You can do so via bluetooth.

This is not an acceptable solution. I don't want to lose the apps I've stored everytime I update my OS. Do I switch to iphone or does verizon work with google to fix this without having to restore. The amount of time I've put into customizing this phone cannot be recaptured. A factory reset does not just "clean the slate" to make a happy, happy quicker droid x. It demolishes an appalling amount of customization that I've done with time I cannot spare to repeat!
PLEASE GET A BETTER SOLUTION THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE A RESET!!!!

That's what I thought once, but my phone (Droid Eris) went from 1.5 to 2.1 six months after I bought the phone. I had a number of issues. Then I learned a factory reset could fix the issues. A week after getting the 2.1 update I did the factory reset. I had six months of customization to redo. Actually I had to do it twice. Once after the 2.1 update and second time after the factory reset. It was a PITA, but it was well worth it.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
