Dumb question here. Proud owner of new phone that can seem to do two basic things my old dumb flip phone would do:

1) How do I skip back through a phone number to correct it without destroying it - as backspace does? My pinkie isn't that big but it may as well be a 2x4 when I try to place the cursor in a number or word to correct it.

2) Is is possible to insert pauses and/or other characters into a phone number to allow auto input of passwords, etc? A tech told me the only thing she knew about was the PW, which prompts you to answer a password.

These tasks used to be simple...

I played with my phone a little bit. It looks like the optical pad will allow you to scroll through the numbers. Just move your thumb left or right over the optical pad to move through text or numbers

Not sure about your first question, but I think a comma (,) creates a couple seconds of pause. Try putting some commas after the phone number and before your password.

Regarding "backspacing:" When you dial a phone number, if you look to the right of the number you are dialing, there should be a BACKSPACE button.

I assume you are using a Droid Incredible.

The poster does not want to delete everything after the error, just take the cursor back to where the correction needs to occur. I have wondered this myself, just never asked.
