I will be traveling to Europe and want the ability to use the google locator, my camera, phone and upload files to facebook.
I do not know what my options are to use my Motorolla Droid over there, Including charging and reception.
Do I need to register it with a Verizon sister company in Europe? Will it cost me extra?

I seriously doubt that you'll have much luck using your Motorola Droid in Slovakia. Most of Europe does not support CDMA, which is the technology built into the MotoDroid. Most of Europe is GSM.
On a recent trip to Europe I carried around my Driod, primarily as a clock. (OK, the places I had WIFI, I used for email and calendar too, but anytime I wasn't in the hotel or office, it was a clock).
Verizon does have some "worldwide" phones, but last I checked, none ran Andriod OS. Depending on what you need / how long you'll be there, you might be better off getting a pay as you go phone from someone like Orange.
