VERIZON FIX THE CHARGE

Verizon,   I come on here and see all these loyal customers on here complaining about issues with their phones. However the only respond I EVER see from you is "we're working on it."   Can you actually provide a REAL answer to the problems these people are having?

When will you fix the issues with this phone?

What is the timeline for the next release?

When will this phone get Gingerbread?

Why do you refuse to replace phones with constant software issues?

Verizon, it appears with all the constant issues with the phones just reading through the posts people are VERY angry, its almost a virtual riot over the issues and lack of support. PLEASE do your customers a service and fix this phone.

You answered your own question. You get edited because you talk about stuff against the ToS..rocket science I know.

What issues do you have?

What will gingerbread add to your phone?

The reason they don't give timelines is because software takes time. They need to work with manufactures and test it extensively--and even then as you can see sometimes isn't enough testing.  Once you put out a date people will cry and whine about how they where promised GB on xx date and why isn't it out yet...

Your next question really makes me laugh, maybe you should read it again.

"why do you refuse to replace PHONES that have SOFTWARE problems"

.....

Because software is on all the phones? Android in general is very lax in the security and a lot of things don't work well on every device.

The reason the forums look like a riot is because thats where people go to cry. You don't see the hundreds of thousands of users that have no problems posting because thats not how forums like these work. A small percentage bother to ever take time of their day to say, ohh things are working great thanks.

I agree with you Elitist_Jerk...  The level of complaining will exist if everything was perfect, this is a complaining world and no matter what is done to resolve the problem it wont be enough because so many want everything NOW.....   Oh I forgot, and free in a lot of cases.

Maybe in a perfect world but last time I checked this world is far from perfect....

As I see it ddemiong is "spot on" with his overall message.  There are a whole lot of really angry Verizon users out there.

As one example, we have not heard from Gary (The GreenRobot) for days.  He started the thread about the camera's flash problem and it appears as if he has just walked away.

Both Verizon and Samsung need to do more than exchange one bad phone for someone else's already-returned bad phone.  It's similar to a Ponzi scheme except using merchandise rather than money.

Oh well, not my problem!  VZ are you listening?  I hope so!

I can agree with this to a point but Verizon seemed to been forced to develop this option as a solution because lets be realistic, if they report that they are working on a solution the customer has a tendency to demand a solution now and the device exchange seem to smooth the beast over temporarily,  I have seen post that the user will report that they will demand a replacement device so this seem to became a method to deal with the complaints..

It takes time to work out bugs that is in a software and if users wouldn't keep thinking a replacement device will resolve a software issue (They always think the replacement device will be different even when it is using the same OS that the previous unit did), the chance is that if a device is malfunctioning from software bugs the replacement device will be no diffrent.

You either can allow time to developer to correct the software and work out the bugs or demand them release it now and leave the bugs and complain about that....  At what level will the company win the argument...

Wildman,

When was the last time you heard of someone taking a BRAND NEW car back to the dealer for warranty service and the dealer installed used replacement parts into the NEW car?  I wonder if car companies would install an already failed ECM computer (Engine Control Module) into a new car when performing warranty service?

If it's broken Verizon should return a BRAND NEW phone when it is still under warranty, not someone else's already-failed phone that was reset to factory defaults. My guess is that the Charge has encapsulated circuits so they cannot install new electronic component parts.

On the other hand, if it is software why doany of these phones work?  It seems to me that if the software is faulty then all Charge phones using the faulty software should fail to work properly.

I definitely agree with Jerry.  Wildman, what other business can get by with this kind of service?  If I have this device 15 days and it doesn't work they are going to send me a used one somebody else returned?  First of all I think customers are making a big mistake in accepting used phones as you are better off keeping the new one you have as you know how it was treated and the used/refurbished phone is not going to be any different as has been shown by many posts.  Possibly the prior customer dropped the phone or even got it wet.

Wildman, you state it takes time to work out the software.  That should be done before the phone is released.  I didn't get to pay less for partially tested software.  I paid $600 for two of these phones plus an extra $60/month for data.  Ok, I get it if there are software bugs.  VZW should come forward and say, yes, there are issues and we are working on it, until it is fixed here are your options......perhaps a credit on your bill or a coupon for accessories or an offer to upgrade to another phone.  Heck, who has a worse reputation for service than cable TV companies, yet I have Cox cable and they are 10 times better at service than VZW.  If I don't get the service I pay for they give me a credit.  I had 2 days where some idiot cable tech disconnected my cable by mistake when my neighbor didn't pay his bill.  I got an apology and money off my bill.  Another time I lost HBO for a few days for no reason.  Guess what, a credit on my bill.  With VZW if services don't work you get no apology, absolutely nothing at all.  Their philosophy is "you paid full price for the latest technology, we achnowledge it doesn't work right but that is just tough, we expect you to pay your bill in full, keep the devices for 2 years and quit complaining."

I hate to say this but I think that the majority of the problems that people are having with this phone is because the ROM (software) on this phone simply stinks.

I have GummyCharged 2.0 on my phone now and I have to say for the first time I can finally use my phone as it's intended.  No freeze-ups, GPS works properly, fast like none other, and best of all... multitasks without even sweating.  I can be playing music in the background in Slacker Radio, syncing files in SugarSync (I keep some files on my Droid synced back to my notebook), and browsing the web in the web browser and this phone with GummyCharged keeps trucking along with absolutely no hesitation or slugishness.  Now this is way this phone should run!  Good luck doing that on the stock ROM, the phone would be lagging like none other.

I hear that I have the same, with EP1Q radio, smooth as butter.

Cant hint at "R word"  thought LAME

apparently its a violation of TOS to let people know of the "other" options that will actually make their phone better and solve the current issues.

Its only a matter of time before some mod comes in here and deletes the posts.

TRPARKY,

Did you have to boot your charge in order to install GummyCharged 2.0?  Just answer yes or no.
